Apollo Conservatories

Move from Saltash to Polbathic

Date Posted: 09.07.2011

For the last 6 years Apollo Bespoke Conservatories have been based in Saltash, Cornwall. Our stores were located a distance of more than 12 miles away and it was becoming more difficult to control matters from that distance, so for some time now we have been looking to relocate to an area where we could combine our offices and stores / workshop. An opportunity arose late last year and we were fortunate to be able to purchase an old Garage and Filling Station in Polbathic. It is located less than 2 miles from the main arterial A38 road, Trerulefoot roundabout. This roundabout is approximately halfway between Saltash and Liskeard. By turning first left when coming from Saltash on to the A374 Torpoint road, Polbathic is the first village along that road and our workshop stores is located on the left hand side just after the turning to St. Germans.

We moved in during January 2011 and we have much to do here. It was an old garage with pumps, which have long been closed down, but it has been a repair garage for some years.

We are now turing it back to a Builders yard and Joinery Workshop. It will take some time to get it up to the standard we would like, but with market conditions as they are we will be taking things a little slowly to begin with. We have already put new Offices at the rear of the workshop on a mezzanine floor which is now working well.

Our next stage is to improve access to the office and then install the required machinery for manufacturing special items. It is still very much our intension to continue to be Installers and Distributors for David Salisbury Conservatories.

For the benefit of local residents we want to improve the whole look of the area and will be hoping to eventually put a good ring fence around the property to screen stored materials.

We would also like to redevelop the site completely at some time in the future when the market improves.
